On Sunday morning, the actor shared a post with a few pictures of his family. The first two pictures featured him and his wife, their children all gathered around his mother, Alma. Mark’s mom tragically passed away in 2021. Wahlberg took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, calling his late mother an angel. “My angel. Rest in peace,” Mark Wahlberg wrote in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of his late mother wearing a pink blazer.

His brother Donnie Wahlberg also posted about their mother’s passing. She was 78 years old, at the time of her death.

Alma Wahlberg had nine children Michelle, Paul, Arthur, Jim, Tracey, Robert, Donnie, Mark and Debbie, who died in 2003 at age 43. Their father, Alma Wahlberg’s ex-husband, Donald Wahlberg, died in 2008.

The youngest of the family Donnie and Mark are the most famous but Alma became well known after appearing on the Wahlberg family’s reality show on A&E called “Wahlburgers,” a behind-the-scenes look at running a family restaurant.

Mark was exceptionally close to his mother. In 2018 Alma revealed how her son called her every single day without fail. “Mark calls me from all over the world. Every single day,” she said. “I don’t care if it’s 3 o’clock in the morning!”

The fact that he cannot call his mother every day also weighs heavily on Mark, who said, “It was always the first phone call that I made every single day for the last 10 years, was to my mom.” He went on to say, “And I don’t get to make that phone call anymore. And it’s heartbreaking. And that’s hard.”

As for Mark, he shares four children with his wife Rhea. Their eldest is their daughter Ella, who is now 20; then comes their son Michael, who is 18; then Brendan, who is 15; and finally, their youngest, Grace, who is 14.

This is such a sweet way to still remember his mother. Share this with others who might relate to Mark and can offer him some words of support.
